Growing Saturday Swap Meets the Right Way
This past Valentine’s Day was a big one for us.
We had over 40 sellers — our largest swap meet yet.
It was exciting. Encouraging. Energizing.
And it confirmed something we’ve believed from the beginning:
This can become something really special for Southern Utah.
But if we’re going to grow this the right way — sustainably — we need to grow both sides of the market:
- More sellers
- And even more buyers
That’s why we’ve made a big decision.
No More Admission Fees
We’ve officially eliminated admission fees altogether.
If we want this to thrive, we need more buyers coming through the gates. More families. More garage-sale lovers. More treasure hunters. More curious first-timers.
Because the truth is simple:
The more buyers who show up, the more successful our sellers are.
The more successful our sellers are, the more sellers come.
And that’s how we grow — organically, sustainably, and long term.
Why Buyers Should Be Coming Every Saturday
1. There’s Always Something Happening at the Fairgrounds
One of the best-kept secrets in Southern Utah is how much is going on at the County Fairgrounds on Saturday mornings.
From specialty food shows…
To equestrian and rodeo events…
To trade shows and community gatherings…
There is almost always something happening out there.
That means when you come to the swap meet, you’re not just coming for one thing — you’re stepping into a whole Saturday morning experience.
There’s something for everyone.
2. It’s a Giant Community Garage Sale (With Better Deals)
If you love garage sales, this is your heaven.
Saturday Swap Meets is essentially a massive community garage sale — but better organized, more concentrated, and packed with incredible variety.
You’ll find:
- Clothes & shoes
- Home décor & antiques
- Tools & car parts
- Knives, tactical gear & military surplus
- Arts & crafts
- Fresh produce & local food
- And items you won’t find in any thrift store
There are deals here that simply don’t exist anywhere else.
It’s fun. It’s vibrant. It’s unpredictable.
You never know what you’re going to discover.
And that’s what makes it exciting.
3. The Southern Utah Sunshine
We are incredibly blessed to live here.
Southern Utah averages over 300 days of sunshine each year.
Even when we get a snowstorm during the week, somehow Saturdays seem to clear up and turn beautiful. Blue skies. Crisp air. Sun on the red rock bluffs.
Coming out to the swap meet is a great excuse to:
- Get your vitamin D
- Walk around outside
- Enjoy the red rock scenery
- Start your weekend energized
There are worse ways to spend a Saturday morning.
We Have Room to Grow — A Lot of Room
One of the biggest advantages we have is space.
We aren’t squeezed into a tight corner.
We aren’t maxed out.
We have the entire parking lot to fill.
And our sellers enjoy more room than at almost any other swap meet or market.
You can pull in with your truck and trailer and set up right next to it in a 20×40 space. No cramped booths. No fighting for space.
That freedom is rare.
Our vision is big. We intend to grow this to be comparable to:
- The massive Southern California swap meets
- The old legendary swap meet on Redwood Road in Salt Lake
Why not here?
Why not Southern Utah?
We have the location.
We have the sunshine.
We have the space.
Now we need the community.
This Isn’t Our Swap Meet — It’s Yours
This doesn’t belong to the Newman family.
It belongs to Southern Utah.
If this is going to become a Saturday morning tradition…
If this is going to grow into something iconic…
If this is going to support dozens, then hundreds of local sellers…
It requires community response.
We need buyers to come out.
We need people to spread the word.
We need friends telling friends.
Because markets don’t grow because one family pushes them.
They grow because a community adopts them.
Let’s Build Something Together
We’re committed to showing up every Saturday.
We’ve reserved every Saturday of the year because we believe consistency builds trust. And trust builds tradition.
But sustainable growth takes all of us.
So here’s the ask:
Come out.
Bring your family.
Invite a friend.
Walk the booths.
Find a treasure.
Support a local seller.
Make it part of your Saturday rhythm.
It’s fun.
It’s affordable.
It’s outdoors.
And it just might become one of your favorite weekend traditions.
Let’s fill this parking lot.
See you Saturday morning.
